I grew up loving sports and living an active style. At age 14 I had to take care of myself for almost a year while my mother was out of town helping my sister recuperate from a severe auto accident. Fitness became my refuge during this difficult time, and daily trips to the local gym led to my entry into the world of bodybuilding.
After winning a few competitions and focusing solely on building muscle through lifting weights, I realized I had been neglecting other important aspects of a complete training program, and decided to educate myself on these areas: stabilization, flexibility, speed, agility, quickness, and plyometrics.
During my education, I became aware of corrective exercise as the best approach to train clients, building a foundation and revisiting progress throughout their fitness journey.
I have been training clients and helping build healthier, happier lives since 2010 through a correct approach to health and fitness, and my work is just as rewarding to me now as it was the day I started.
Corrective exercise is the identification of neuromuscular skeletal dysfunctions and the development of a plan to correct these impairments by implementing an integrated corrective strategy.
Corrective exercise training should be used by people who show signs of muscle imbalances, which restrict them from moving freely and potentially hindering their everyday life. Corrective exercise is also great for individuals who are returning from injuries as it prepares them to return to more traditional types of training.
